I recently purchased the DIR-655 and was hoping to set up a control of my son's PC to limit his access to the Internet to a specific time range. From what I can see, the schedule time setup only works with a "Deny" so that applying it to an access control will have the opposite effect of what I am trying to achieve. That is access is granted always, except for the time range in the schedule.

I apologize if this question has already been answered but I have not been able to find and answer in a FAQ or on this forum. What is the best and simplest way to create a rule that limits a PC (mac address) to accessing the Internet to a specific time range?

But there is such a thing as free advice TANSTAAFL,

Say you want to only allow him online between 0600 and 2200

Create a rule blocking him from 2200 to 2359
Create another rule blocking him from 0000 to 0559

Please also take not that this will not close open connections only prevent new ones, so if he is playing a game that uses the same connection and he already had one open at the cutoff he won't be disconnected, however this is useful if web browsing is the demon to block.

Thanks for your reply. I had thought of taking your approach but was hoping for something simpler. My DIR-655 replaced and old Compex router that made it really simple to only allow access during a specific time window. But I have just tried something that may work. In your example below if you put 22:00 in the start time and 06:00 in the finish time it may achieve what I want. You may already know that this won't work but I suppose there is no harm trying.
