Thanks D-Link for the ROCK SOLID WBR-2310 I have... Just thought I would share. This thing has been running nearly 24x7 since May of 2006 without incident. Port forwarding, virtual server settings, DYNDNS, WPA2 are top notch, and perfect for my needs. I am sad to have to part with it once I upgrade my home wiring, because I will be getting a Gigabit router, and a gigabit managed switch.

If anyone wants to know, I am running:
Hardware Version: A1       Firmware Version: 1.03

Really the only issues I have had where I have been offline were:

1. When I have had to restart the router due to config changes (to be expected, but no big deal)
2. When I moved from an apartment to a house (obviously... threw this in for the lol).
3. When I found that the inside wiring to my home office is absolute.... trash... and DSL modem wouldn't get DSL SYNC...

None of these were issues with the WBR though... to my knowledge, and viewing my router logs, I haven't EVER seen this thing puke unexpectedly and reboot or anything of the sort.

I'm glad to hear it. If you're in the market for a gigbit router, look at tge DGL-4500 or the DIR-855 that's being released soon.

I have decieded to stick with the WBR since it has been rock solid for me, and just get a large managed gigabit switch of some kind. That way, the LAN will be running through the switch, won't have to worry about a new router. That, and I am not a supporter of wireless N products... The standard hasn't yet been ratified, and 802.11G is more than enough for my needs at this time.... since I really don't utilize the wireless except for with my PS3. Whole house will be hard wired anyways, since I am going to be giving Comca$t the boot in coming months for AT&T's IP TV offering.

You'll be forced to use their router modem anyway.

Yeah, U-Versre, it's their phone, internet, TV bundle.... all IP based... Totally forgot actually that I'd have to use their Home Gateway (or whatever they call it now)... My price on it would be on the cheap, cause I have the hook up...

I will be researching the whole Gigabit switch thing in the near future, and (of course provided my wallet doesn't have a heart attack) be getting a 24 or 48 port device from D-Link.... I can't imagine, and don't want to think about how much it would be though. I'd probably also pick up something for wireless access at the house too, or just maybe stick with the WBR-2310.... can't really make up my mind..... so easy to change plans when not thinking about the cost.

If you're looking for budget, we have some layer 2 switches that are pretty reasonable.
Also you could use that wbr-2310 a secondary access point, the U-Verse systems gateways is a 2-Wire router modem with intigrated wireless.
