hi there got a problem with my router.

Firmware 1.11 Hardware Version: A2

- im using this router as we have a small business around 25 computers in total i dont want them to access site for the times 7am - 12pm and 1pm to 7pm.
1. i created 2 schedules for that weekdays am and weekdays pm Monday - Friday.
2. website filter - added for example youtube.com
3. autoupdate the time so that it will always be correct
4. added the access control policy and name
  a. selected my sched
  b. add computer mac addresses
  c. selected block some access - check the two checkboxes - apply webfilter and advance port     filters
  d. added tcp ports and checked 1 of them each. 1-20, 22-24, 26-79, 82-109, 111-442, 444-5049, 5051-65535
5. save them with log web access

then nothing works on the time frame. need help pls. thanks

more important then anything is wether or not the time is actually updating- check the status page of the router to verify time is correct- if its not try using a different time server, if it is then try applying one rule for each day and see if that does not fix the error.

the time is working properly, checked the access control policy and deleted the first entry after that all the other policies work. The one that i have deleted has this functions:

1. Always On - Name of policy: Unregistered
2. Other Computers
3. Block All Access

On which if someone uses our patch cord at the conference room he will be able to gain access to both LAN and our internet. Do u know anything that can help me do this function.

I already tried deleting and adding it up again but when i tried that i came across the 1st problem again.

Thanks in advance

first and foremost, on your network are there only a  certain number of PC's that are being used or are there PC's coming and going on the network on a daily basis?
If there is only a certain number PC's on the network you can setup Mac filtering to only allow the Mac address you place in the field to gain access to the network(local and internet)

If there are multiple PC's coming and going on the network, if they are in a controlled environment you will need to invest in a business class router to accomplish your network locks with out locking out the entire network.

What router should i get in order to achieve all of my requirements. Especially the website filter with 40 spaces is quite small. Thanks again sir, appreciate all the help.

unfortunately I am not a business class tech so I would have to recommend that you give D-Link presales number a call and ask them what business class product would work best in your situation, as far as residential routers go you have the best on on the market today, its just not powerfull enough to stipulate the rules you are trying to apply.

the Dlink Presales number is 1-800-326-1688 option 1

If the scheduled jobs are not running on time, or not running at all, is your main issue then please try creating 2 schedules for any period that runs past 12 midnight.  For instance make one that runs until 11:59 PM and an identical one that runs from Midnight until morning.  I know for sure that this was required in earlier versions of the firmware and probably still is.  Let me know if that works for your issue.

Cheers
