Background:
I recently purchased the DIR 655 and have loved it. I have one computer connected via wired, and two via wireless (1 desktop and 1 laptop). The router has not been used under any abnormal circumstances, just regular traffic that would go along with three computers connected, and WPA was enabled, so there was not any unwanted traffic.
Now to the Problem:
The router has worked fine up until tonight. I got home from work to find the the router was turned off. I checked the power cable to find that it was plugged in. I tried holding the reset button to no avail, and then decided to try unplugging the router. It was unplugged for about 30 minutes, and I tried plugging it back in, and the router still did not turn on. I have tried this multiple times, and have tried various combinations of unplugging, and using the reset button, all of which were fruitless. I have looked elsewhere for help, but have found nothing, and decided that this would be the best place to go, other than D-Link's own Tech Support (which I have just contacted prior to writing this). The only possible problem that I can think of is that we had a power outage tonight that may have been accompanied by some sort of power surge. I don't believe this to be the problem though, because nothing else connected to the same power strip was damaged, including the DSL modem, which I am directly connected to now.
I am looking for a quick solution, because there are 3 people in my family who depend on this connection, so any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
If you need any more information, if I have left anything out, let me know.
Thanks,
Craig
