mohora, I am a Mac user also and I got very frustrated with my DNS when I first got it. I honestly thought the DNS was no good but I am now convinced that there is a difference with how Macs treat network drives and it's very possible that you may be as disappointed with another NAS if you change it. The best advice I can give you is to install the fun_plug from the beginning. It's not very difficult, you just need to copy a couple of files to your Volume_1, just google it. The reason I suggest you do this is because I had my DNS working with my Mac's time machine but then it messed up by itself. I think it had to do with permissions. I then noticed I had some folder which I could not delete. It does appear that the Leopard operating system doesn't create folders with liberal permissions (777 if you are familiar with Unix, which means Read/write/execute permissions for everyone). I believe this is what was causing Time Machine to fail for me, I know have it working. The Fun_plug allows you to log in using Telnet to the DNS and change the permissions to 777 for the Time Machine sparsebundle.
