I just upgraded yesterday to the DIR-655 (ver B1, F/W Ver 2.00NA), and suddenly my sons Xbox 360 complains that the NAT is set to moderate.  I'm not really sure what this means, but I've never seen it before and it wasn't an issue with my old router.  Is anyone familiar with this issue as it pertains to the DIR-655?  I did some quick google searches and I've seen lots of different 'solutions' to this issue, but none of them seem to agree with each other and I'd rather not spend and entire afternoon trying one after another given that this router kills my internet connection for a full 20 seconds every single time I make any change... honestly I've never seen a router do that and I don't understand why this one does.

What is your ISP service, DSL or cable? Do you know if your ISP modem has a internal router? Most newer cable modems and dsl modems have an internal router that needs to be bridged. Call your ISP and ask them to bridge it to the 655 router. Having 2 routers in line will cause Moderate NAT or connection issues with game consoles. Check out the DGL-4500 forum gamefuel sticky. Even though the UI is different, the information is the same.

Thanks, I have Comcast and I'm using the same modem I used with my last router so the only thing that has changed is the router itself.  It's actually a rather old modem, I think I've had it for 4 or 5 years now.  I will check out the other forum sticky as you suggest, I appreciate it.

If you are renting the Modem from Comcast, you can trade it in or trade up. Some Cable Modems, have a Router built-in. Trade it in for one that doesn't or buy a Cable Modem that does not include a Router that is built-in.

I appreciate the suggestion, but actually the modem is mine; it's not one I'm renting from Comcast.  They already get enough of my $$$$, I don't need to pay them an additional $5 a month for a modem rental!  Hahahaha!  Actually I ended up fixing the issue by creating an address reservation for the Xbox 360 and then putting that address in the DMZ.  I figure I really don't need to worry about viruses and such for a 360 so it seemed like the quickest/easiest way to resolve the issue.
