Problems with media center
« on: September 01, 2008, 09:51:29 AM »

I just purchased dsm-750 to use as an extender for vista and to play dvr-ms (hd) files from my xp MCE2005.  I am having several issues.
1. Every time I play a dvr-ms.  The audio seems to either be real choppy or no audio at all.  I  don' think its a network issue since it does it from a usb source.
2. I can't play any video content from a recorded tv show, live tv  or a the online night news shows.  If i try to playany of these features  it will  hang for a long time(several minutes ) I will then get an error "application error"  "a critical widows media center process has fail."  blah blah blah.
Does anyone have insight to what might be wrong

This is a Media Extender for Windows Vista MCE ONLY, it will not work with Windows MCE 2005.

It also has the Media Lounge mode which will work with any Upnp server and Windows XP.
I hope this answers your question.

1) Please make sure you have the latest firmware some issues with DVR-ms have been fixed in that last update. If you are connecting wirelessly you may he some of these issues as well streaming video files.

2) Does your PC have internet access? Are your DSM-750  connected wirelessly to your network?
