Firmware 1.25NA
« on: January 20, 2011, 11:52:18 AM »

I downloaded, applied through one of my wired computers, followed all the directions and rebooted as required and the firm ware still shows as 1.13.

Did I need to do some sort of intermediate step?

Just curious, is there a reason for updating?

The first time I loaded 1.25NA, the router still showed the old version of the firmware (1.22) after rebooting.

So, I loaded the new firmware a second time, and it finally worked.  My router now shows firmware version 1.25NA.  All settings reverted to factory defaults, so make sure you know your configuration settings before updating.

I am hoping this new firmware makes the DIR-628 router more reliable.  I bought this router 2 weeks ago to replace an older one that died.  The new router tends to stop working about every 48 hours.  Rebooting it gets everything working again.  But it would be nice if it kept working without needing frequent reboots!

The reboot is a possible symptom of something on the line having problems.
Whats is your ISP service? DSL or Cable?
Can you check the status of your ISP modem. Logs will show up and down issues. This will effect routers down the line and cause them to reboot sometimes.

Are you using automatic IP or static IP address reservations?
