I would do a factory reset and reflash the firmware.  If it doesn't work after that I would get support a call as it sounds like there is an issue with the router.  Make sure you flash it from a wired system.

If it doesn't work list your complete ip addresses that you are using including the subnet mask.  it could be as simple as the addresses and the masks are causing the issue too.

2Wire Modem/Router Enabled DHCP (IP 192.168.254 - Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0)---->Linksys Router(disabled DHCP)(IP 192.168.1.1 - Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0)--->Dlink 655 (Disabled DHCP) (IP 192.168.0.1 - Subnet Mask 255.255.2550)

Go ahead and change the 655 to am IP that is in the Linksys subnet 192.168.1.2, but before you hit save changes manke sure you change the 655 DHCP server address range to match the change make your 192.168.1.10 - 192.168.1.XXX.  If you haven't been changing this DHCP address range after you changed the IP this can also keep you from seeing the router correctly
