Firmware 2.05NA for DIR-825 Rev. B1 - So far so good!!
« on: January 25, 2011, 01:11:18 PM »

So far no complaints on new 2.05NA Firmware.  I've used 2.03NA for about 3 days until I gave up on it because of poor wireless throughput (maximum 3mb/s across computers even with reflash and 30/30/30 reset did not help)

My wireless throughput transferring files from computer to computer now reaches a whopping 20 megabytes per second(roughly 150mbps) !!  :o that's even better then I've ever had with DD-WRT.

So far for right now I am sticking with 2.05NA.  I haven't had to reset my router once, it's been up for over a week with no problem as my biggest concern was wireless throughput which has been fixed.

Can anybody else who is currently running 2.05NA please give me their input?  I am looking for other improvements, concerns, issues, how they like it, etc...

Does anyone else have the DHCP server disabled and WPA2 only security set?

I don't understand why I'm the only one having a problem with the status pages when those two conditions are met.  I've used a desktop with Win7 and a laptop with XP to connect to the 825 and I'm getting the same results with different browsers so it's not a browser problem.  I don't have a problem witn 2.03NA.

Put 2.05NA on mine last night and when I went to "Configure IPV6 manually" via the web interface under the first tab, I got a "page not found, 404" error. So I am back to 2.03. Anyone else experience this.

I tried reloading the firmware at least 4 times and several hard resets.

@pcjunky: I just upgraded to 2.05NA and I too have DHCP disabled and I am experiencing the same thing with the Status|Device Info tab (/st_device.asp).  It half loads and freezes.  Using web tools I can see it go into an apparent infinite loop requesting the same two files over and over causing the browser to become unresponsive.  Anyhow, I did find that all the other sub-tabs under Status work just fine (for me) so long as I don't go through the the main Status tab, which of course defaults to Device Info sub-tab.

@Patrick533: Every page other than Status|Device Info tab (/st_device.asp) seems to work although I did not actually try to make changes in every location.  I could not find "Configure IPv6 Manually" exactly like that but I do have a button labeled "Manual IPv6 Internet Connection Setup" on Setup|IPv6 tab (/ipv6.asp).  Clicking that seems to work but I did not try to actually change any settings since I know nothing about IPv6.

When I go to configure IPV6 manually, the whole page is missing (HTTP error 404), don't change your settings because I can't even see the page. I know with 2.03NA the IPV6 configuration is working fine. I went back to my PC to check and make sure IPV6 was indeed turned on and it is. Also with 2.05NA it is NOT issuing my PC an IPV6 address but under 2.03NA, my PC does have a IPV6 address (command prompt: ipconfig).

It would be nice to have a MOD comment on this since there is one person below me that seems to have the same problem.

Thanks for verifying the problem.  Can't imagine how Dlink missed this during testing.

I just got my router this morning and updated to the new firmware. I have the exact same problem. I actually have two of these routers. The second is only acting as an AP and the DHCP server is disabled. It is quite annoying because this if the one that my laptops connect to mostly and I would like tho see the wireless status.

I emailed Dlink support over a week ago.  They quickly replied that there were no known problem with v2.05 and gave me instructions on how to reset the router to the default state.

I replied that of course they're not going to see the problem in the default state and told them to disable DHCP server and turn on WPA2 security.  I guess they verified the problem because I haven't heard back from them since Feb 6th.

I too upgrade to 2.05NA from 2.03NA.  I am able to see the IPv6 configuration web page.  I has an 6to4 tunnel with tunnelbroker.net (he.net) which was working fine on 2.03NA.  After upgrading to 2.0.5NA the tunnel is connected by is not routing traffic across the router.  I changed it to 6rd from Comcast and I was able to get IPv6 work that way.  I reverted back to 2.03NA and the 6to4 tunnel is now working.

Dlink verified the problem, but they say it only happens when accessing the router by wifi.  They claim if you're hooked up to a lan port you won't have problems reading the status.

I see the problem when connected to a lan port or when connecting by wifi.

Thanks for checking.

Dlink tech support says that the developers are looking at the problem but they don't have a time frame for when it will be fixed.
