DLink DIR-655 Port Forwarding
« on: September 20, 2008, 01:29:53 PM »

Hm. Alright, so, I have tooken numerous guides on port forwarding, I do it correctly. But it doesn't port forward... I have all firewalls off, I have even tried putting my IP in the DMZ, it doesn't work.

I have a Westell 6100 Modem also.

You are aware that for portforwarding with the outside world through the Westell modem you also might need to set portforwarding on the Westell modem?

First off: do you have public IP address? If you have a private IP, such as 10.x.x.x, 172.x.x.x, 192.x.x.x, port forwarding will never work out....

6100 is a NAT/Firewall. Bridge it and you should be good.
