What does that button on the side of the router do?

Does it turn on a light bulb in someones basement or something?

No, it was planned to activate a one touch configuration mode for use with our wireless adapters.  I don't even know that it was ever turned on, however there are threads on this same button on all out other DIR products.

this button worked according to the manual for my DAP-1522.  the DIR-330 is connected to the DAP-1522, and i never had to perform any configuration on the DAP-1522.
