I have exactly the same problem. 1 desktop with XP SP3 wired: SharePort doesn't work.
1 desktop with XP SP3 wireless with DWA 140 adapter: works perfect.
And: 1 laptop wireless with Vista Home premium: also works perfect. I have removed SharePort and installed it again on the wired desktop: same problem. If I want to switch this computer off I get a warning that SharePort is still running and canīt be closed by Windows. I have to choose stop this program immediately to shut off the computer. Anyone an idea??

Guessing some kind of driver issue. If you have VMware or other virtualisation package running there are bound te be problems with the drivers.

Hello Edgarz,

Thanks for the quick reaction.
I have checked the PC and removed a lot of stuff. Couldn't find anything like VMware or something like that. Still Shareport doesn't work. At start up of the computer the symbol comes up green during a very short time. If I connect immediately a device from the pop up screens it works. But if I wait a minute the symbol turns red and stays red, and: it is not possible to stop the program. I have to go in task manager to stop it.
Do you have any further suggestions??

This is quite a difficult issue because it is caused by a driver conflict in Windows,

Are you sure you don't have any firewall or portblocking applications active? It looks like the connection is being reset after initial contact.

I wish I am having a better time with it then what seems you guys and gals seem to be. On all computers that we have it running I find more of the stations going from green to red and back again. But for the most time it stays red. I have a Maxtor 750 Gb USB drive connected to the port. Them some times right it the middle of a tranfer we will find the data only have moved then it flakes out. I sure would like to know what i have overlooked. Anyways that is our experence with it. Anybody want to chime in and all connections are hardwired.

All's fine here the last couple of months (wired)

One observation though with the new 1.22beta firmware is that Shareport connection through wireless is disconnected and connected automatically when engaging a printer. No log showng disconnection of any kind...

I had a similar problem.  I uninstalled 2 Windows Onecare products that I had installed, and everything works perfect now.  See http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/onecarefirewall/thread/5c584426-1fd2-4fe3-a7e1-7917ea1f3d92/ for more details.

Hi everyone,
Has anyone tried USB Audio with any success?
I have a creative sound blaster X-fi 5.1 usb sound card and it does not show up in the list of devices to connect to. Is there any update or remedy?
I am actually on DIR-825 and the last firmware (2.05NA i believe).
My other devices connect quiet normally, except that the hard disk transfer rates are not that great (~4MBps).
Thanks,

Mine does not work. It prints blank pages, scrambled text and broken images. That was the reason I picked this model, I needed to share a printer with out leaving a computer running all the time.

Does not matter wired computer or wireless, win xp, vista or win 7.

Try updating your printer driver. Or else reinstall it. Looks a printer spooler issue.
