Problems Streaming Video & Radio ...
« on: October 02, 2008, 11:28:42 AM »

Hey All

I just got the dir 615 and set everything up which was a pain.  But however when i go to stream videos and radio, windows media player 11 does something for 5 minutes and then i get an error about my sound card.  Prior to goin wireless i had no problems with either, when i just pluged the cable modem into the back of the computer.  I read somewhere that switching the network option in media player to http only could help.  And it did but only with the hd radio.  If i keep these settings, it brings up some error about the thing im trying to burn is not found.  ughhhh! >:(    Now at work using the wireless connection there i can stream the videos with no problem on that network.  Is there some sort of setting i can change on the dir 615 to allow me to stream or did i just pay 50 bucks to keep a cord plugged into my comp?

It seems that the WMP 11 is mis-configured and might not have all the required media codecs now.  You might be able to fix this with downloading and installing one th the "mega" codec install pack that its found on the Internet.
