Can't access password protected folders
« on: October 20, 2008, 04:55:34 AM »

I love my new DNS-321. It's working very well, but I have one small problem. When I try to access a password protected folder from Windows Vista it asks for UserName and Password. I enter the values many times. Sometimes it eventually works after 6 or more tries, but most times I just give up. Any ideas how to solve? My interim solution has been to modify the folder to non-password protected, but that's hardly a good long term solution.

If you are running any anti-virus software please make sure it is properly configured or simply try disabling it before accessing the folder to see if that may be the cause.

Its also case sensitive on usernames. Windows by default sends over lower case it seems, so make sure your users are all lower case on the 321. This issue just cost me a few hours...
