Dolby 5.1 over HDMI ?
« on: November 06, 2008, 06:48:54 AM »

Hi,
I use DSM-750 with the last firmware, connected directly to TVHD (Sharp LS42SB45) over HDMI.
I run Media Center to play ripped DVD (DVD Gallery).
I successfully have covert Art and videos are running fine except for sound.
The soundtrack AC3/2 can be played, but AC3/5.1 no.

On the PC, under Medi Center, I've no problem to hear the sound.

What could I do to debug this ?

Any tips are welcome,
Thanks.

You'll probably get better help over here,

In my opinion, this is a major flaw and has prevented me from purchasing it.  If someone can convince me that it is fixed, then perhaps I'll consider buying it :)

Finally, I don't have found a way to solve the problem. After so much tweaks on Vista to make it working, I give up. At this price, I think it's an abomination to deliver a product that can't play natively ripped DVD. Maybe it's Microsoft fault, but all is working in Vista Media Center, so ::)...

DSM is back to vendor.

Will wait for a mature product.
