Good Day!  I hope any one can help , or even the moderator.
I have a Dlink DIR 655. In the label attached at the bottom of the unit has the following info:
P/N: IIR655EEU........A3G
S/N: F37H37A003287

MAC ID: 001XXXXXX70
WPS PIN: 29XXXXX4
H/W Ver.: A3 F/W  Ver. : 1.10WW

Clearly label identified it as a DIR 655 Ver. A3 with firmware 1.10ww

But when I logged in to 192.168.0.1 and logged in as admin, in the upper right corner of the screen display the following:

Hardware Version: B1 Firmware Version : 1.10WW. If you look at the center of the screen under Status, then General. It displays the time and Firmware Version: 1.10WW, 2007/09/21

I'm planning to upgrade the firmware , so which firmware do i use? also base on the above info , which should I follow the label at the back of unit which say I have Ver. A3 hardware ? or follow the admin screen that says i have a Ver. B1 hardware?

which is correct, is any moderator connected to Dlink ? and anyone in Dlink advice which info I should follow? Please let me know if their are any other info necessary to help me determine which firmware I need to use for the upgrade.

Hi rgabitan,

I would RMA the Router. Don't upgrade the Firmware.

Or exchange the Router, from where you purchase the Router, as being defective.

Are you in the U.S.A. or in Europe?

Does the MAC address on the router, match the sticker on the box it came in?

I'm from south east Asia so I doubt that I can rma this. As for the Mac address I will need to check if it the same from label and in admin. screen. I will check and get back . Is there any Dlink engineer who can give me some answers on this as rma I believe is doubtful and I don't plan on buying a new one if I can still utilized this. I suppose Dlink support should be able to answer this as I'm dude they have at least experience this, with all info provided in hardware. Dlink tech. Pls. Help...

This forum has turned into bascially a users only forum.  I haven't seen much of DLink representation in several months.  Best to give them a call.

Hi rgabitan,

Have you purchased this Router from a Legitimate Source? It might be Counterfeit. Tell the Authorities.
