I have a mac that has access to the router dir-655, it has a printer hooked up to usb on the router. I know you can access it on windows pc using shareport software, but how does one access the printer from a mac? I don't see any sharepoint software for the mac on the dlink site.

The printer that your trying to connect to doesn't have ethernet connection ability does it?
If not then we'll just have to wait and see if Dlink will make an SharePort app for Mac.

If it does then see if it can't also be connected via ethernet. Your router will give it an IP address. Your Mac will see it and you'll be able to use it.

I have several different Windows computers using SharePort and several Macs connecting wirelessly.

I know that it's redundant using SharePort if all the computers can connect wirelessly or wired but I thought I'd give it a try and so far I see a lot less to no conflict printing from a Mac then a Windows computer. Before I used to have to reset the printer after each one.

Latest developments are RJ45 ethernet-to-USB cables/converters. Can turn a USB printer into a network printer. Don't now where I saw it though. UNtil there is a shareport version for Mac that might help you out.

I'm told the Mac version client is "in production".

I'm told the Mac version client is "in production".

The message above is from November last year. So far, we haven't seen anything yet.

Could someone from D-Link confirm this, please??? Otherwise I'll just return my DGL-4500 and get an Airport Wireless Router. I wish D-Link releases something soon, as I do like their routers, and have always recommend them to my clients and friends.

Thank you!

The fact of it is we can't promise you something we don't have.
The client is in production. It will be here as soon as it is available. If you bought the router because of that specific feature, I'm sorry for the delay.
