Block access when already connected
« on: November 21, 2008, 07:52:52 AM »

firmware 1.11

Trying to block access for 1 computer MAC address with schedule named sleep from 11pm to 7am

MAC address filtering is set to allow only computers listed

Access control is set to block all access using this computers MAC address with schedule sleep

Problem is if computer is connected before set time it does not get disconnected when schedule begins

Am wondering now if since MAC filter is set to allow it is overriding schedule. Old linksys router would disconnect the computer when the set time happened.

Hi,

Someone had asked a similar question a few months back.  Here's the answer provided by one of the D-Link techs.

http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=2087.0

Hope that helps.

So the answer is you can't do that and set up a script that will shut down the PCs at a specific time.

Hi KevTech,

See this post: http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=2087.0 and specifically, the post about Network Magic.

I will just turn off the wireless when I go to bed.

Maybe that could be a feature that could be implemented (turn off wireless on a schedule).

It has been implemented. Latest firmware version has it.

Ya I found this out the other day that you can make schedules to enable and disable the wireless.

Oh and I am using 1.11 firmware.

no going to happen.
You might be able to block it using Securespot.
