Hi searcher555,

What Adapter Card are you using on the Desktop Computer? When using the Adapter Card with the old Router did you need to make any changes in its settings? If you did, I would change back to default settings and see how it works.

I don't think there is any adapter card on my desk top, It is directly connected to the router.

Go back to default settings for your NIC. When running Vista, disable automatic tuning op TCP.

I am running XP on the desktop. What is NIC. Do I disable automatic tuning op TCP on the router and how do I do that. I am not network savy, Sorry.

NIC= Network Interface Card. It's the physical network device inside your PC (where the ethernet cable goes into your PC)  ;) You will find the device in XP's Device Manager.

XP does not have autotuning. Only Vista has.

 Ok, so I guess that means that I don't have to do anything for the Desktop. Buy the way, the desktop now seems to be running faster then when I first brought it up with the new Dir-655 router. I will just leave it alone. I have a knack for screwing things up with PC's. Thanks for your help Eddie.
