Where do I get this new firmware?  It's not on the d-link download site.  My DSM-750 doesn't connect to find the new firmware either.  When I try to do the automatic update, it tells me it can't connect because of a network problem (this has always been the case).  The last update I did was by putting the firmware on a usb drive, and updating from that.

Should I be able to automatically update from the DSM-750, and if not, where can I download the new firmware from?

Well, so much for support here.  What a lousy company - just like the vast majority of them these days ... geesh.

Kittyburgers, here are the links;
ftp://ftp.dlink.com/medialounge/DSM750/DSM750us_2008.11.24-1435__1.02.09
ftp://ftp.dlink.com/medialounge/DSM750/DSM750-VerInfo.txt

Save the following files to USB drive and update:
a) DSM750us_2008.11.24-1435__1.02.09
b) DSM750-VerInfo.txt

I like...   8) 8) 8)

H.264 at about 9MB per second, 720P with an AC3 5.1 dolby soundtrack in a MKV file plays very nicely...

It's not mentioned in the release notes above but has there been some performance improvement in the H264 decoder? A few of my previous test samples that caused problems seem to play better (these are 1080P files with high data rates).

My initial impression is that with this firmware release I now have everything I wanted in terms of media playing capability.

Good job  D-Link!

Kittyburgers, here's the linK;
ftp://ftp.dlink.com/medialounge/DSM750/

Copy the following files to USB drive and update:
a) DSM750us_2008.11.24-1435__1.02.09
b) DSM750-VerInfo.txt

Thanks for the link.  I managed to copy these files to a usb drive and updated the device.  Strangely enough, the first time I did it with the zip file, and it's didn't contain the proper VerInfo.txt file, and didn't work.  Shame on D-Link.  The unit is running the new firmware, and I have noticed a few improvements, however, I'm still unable to play WAV files in VMC mode ... sigh.  I'm glad the new firmware decodes FLAC files, and will try this soon.  This will be a good alternative to wav files.

Should I be able to see Flickr somewhere? If so, I'm not seeing it and I am on 1.02.09.

I thought there supposed to be some sort of Flickr integration or feature?  All I see under On-line services is Live 365.

Nothing here either, maybe this firmware has some bugs.

I think it definitely has some bugs, which is perhaps why it's not on the official support download site (only version 1.01 is there).  I thought there was something fishy going on when I had to get the file from some obscure FTP site that isn't documented.  Gosh, I feel like I'm beta testing  :-\

My update came from the Internet, directly to the box via check for update. I didn't have to put anything on USB to get it.

That's interesting.  Do you have a wired or wireless connection?  I've always had a wireless connection to my particular unit, and have never been able to have a direct connection to the internet.  I've just noticed since I put on version 1.02 that when I go into the network properties page through the 750 itself, it now says "connected".  Before it always said "not connected".  Having said that, reading the d-link instructions, it says never to install an update over a wireless connection, so I always thought that was some sort of feature to prevent the update from installing over a wireless connection.

Wireless and WPA2(AES). I read the instructions as well but thought what the hey. It's always said connected when I had a connection. It's set to auto update so when I went to watch a move the other day it told me an update was available and asked if I wanted to install it. I did and it worked great.

Are you getting the extras that have been announced, like the Flickr integration?
