Streaming .m4a files to Roku soundbridge
« on: December 28, 2008, 03:57:59 PM »

Hello:

I have installed today my DNS-321. I am trying to stream my audio files in .m4a format to a ROKU Soundbridge and a PS3.

The Roku sees the m4a audio files if I use the iTunes server on the DNS-321, but cannot play them.
The Roku does not see the m4a audio files if i disable the iTunes server on the DNS-321.
Note that I have been  streaming my .m4a files to my Roku from iTunes on a desktop for almost a year - so I know that the Roku supports the .m4a format.

On the PS3, I also cannot see the .m4a files.

I have upgraded my firmware to 1.01, and I use a fixed IP address of 192.168.1.11

I am frustrated because I bougth the DNS-321 for its UPnP server.....

Thanks in advance for any help,

Andre

What happens when you try to play the .m4a file from the iTunes server?

The Roku simply says that it is unable to play the files. If I use iTunes on my desktop to serve the files to the Roku, the Roku plays them.
