We have the DVX and DVG devices with each being on separate UPS devices. The UPS controlling the DVX was inadvertently turned-off one evening and not discovered until the following morning. When turned back on, the DVX started normally, but none of the phones or DVGs recovered until we manually restarted the phones and power cycled the DVGs. Granted, we did not wait very long, but the questions are - will the peripheral devices automatically re-register themselves with the DVX so that manual intervention is not required? If so, what is a reasonable time period?
We waited about 10 minutes, but had to do a power cycle on the DVGs so as to prevent incoming calls from being picked-up and immediately dropped. It seems that as long as the devices still have their IP, they consider all to be well; yet they do recognize (on the phone anyway) that "no service" is available. Given this, I assume that they (both phones and DVG) all have watchdog timers in order to detect the presence of the DVX and would have reset themselves had enough time elapsed.
Thanks.
