Hello,
I have a 343 updated to 1.02 loaded with 4 seagate 1TB HDD configured for Raid 5.
I have an XBOX 360 updated to Dashboard 2.0.7357.0.
I am having a hard time seeing video files in any other folder except volume_1, and if I do see files there, they will not play, show connection lost.
Files play fine when placed on a smaller USB HDD and connected to the XBOX via the USB port.
In the release notes for 1.02, it states XBOX support, but what does that mean exactly?
UPDATE - I can see pictures and play music from the XBOX via the 343, but when I select Video Library and then DNS-343, and look under all _videos, it shows "no videos found".
I have just switched everything over on my network from 192.168.0.xxx to 1.xxx.
343 and xbox are static.
So close, yet so far away 8-)
UPDATE - I don't know which of the changes that I made corrected the problem, but here they are...
Moved my intire network from 192.168.0.xxx to 192.168.1.xxx I doubt this had any effect.
Moved XBOX and DNS-343 physical cables from different switches that are uplinked to my gaming router DGL-4100 to being directly connected to my gaming router DGL-4100 bypassing the switches DGS-1008D and DGS-1024D I doubt this had any effect.
Reorganized the folders on the DNS-343 and made sure every file in the "Volume_1\Media" folder had no special characters (only 0 to 9 and A to Z). After renaming everything I updated the Advanved --> UPnP AV Server settings to look at "Volume_1/Media" --> Save --> Refresh. I really think this last step corrected my issue.
As you can see, I have a lot of D-Link hardware (you can add a DWL-7200AP and a DAP-1522 to the list), and I am disappointed that my email to Tech Support and this post went unanswered by Tech Support. I had to figure this out myself by trial and error and spend vauble time troublshooting to get this product to work when the f/w release notes specifies "XBOX" support. This device is far from Plug and Play, and I would not recommend it to anyone that is not willing to invest a lot of time. Not for novice computer users. 2.5 stars out 5.
