Connect Blu-Ray player to network
« on: February 11, 2011, 11:56:16 PM »

Hey guys

I've bought a D-Link DIR-615 Wireless N Router.
I would really appreciate if someone could take me through the staps of configuring my network.

I have a SONY BDP-S370 Blu-ray player with a LAN socket.

I have my Dell Inspiron laptop working on Windows 7 (with LAN socket and wireless N card).

I have a HTC Desire phone.

I use my HTC Desire as a WI-Fi hotspot to connect to the internet.

I would like to plug the router to the Blu-ray player so that I can use the internet connection broadcasted by my phone. I would also like to be able to access the contents of my laptop on the Blu-ray player through the wireless router.

Thank you!

So your trying to use your router as a wireless access point? Thats tough. Don't think you can do that with the stock firmware with the 615. Correct me if I am wrong though.

Yes that's right. After reading some forums I decided to flash my router with DD WRT firmware. I still need help though :)

Yea, good luck with that. Try this walk through:

Keep in mind though, going 3rd party means your walking away from the typical paths of support and its going to be a learning curve. If your up for it, awsome, and good luck.
