Download Spd SLOW, Up Spd Normal
« on: January 13, 2009, 04:13:32 PM »

Using the N airport adapter in my Macbook Pro, I get a download speed of about 14,000 kb/s and an upload of about 4,000 kb/s. Using my N DAP-1522 in bridge mode connected to the same router with the N card of the laptop turned off, I get a download speed of about 3,000 kb/s (almost 5x less) with the same upload speed of about 4,000 kb/s. Why is the bridge slowing the connection to an almost crippling speed, even though it uses the same 802.11n as the airport card? It has the same signal strength that the airport gets, since it is in the same room. I also have locked my router to only put out an N signal, so I know that the bridge isn't connecting using g or anything. I do have another PC and a PS3 and a 360 connected to the bridge, but none of them are turned on, so that shouldn't make a difference.

Have you tried different channels, positions, and security settings?

I have not tried other positions due to the length of my cables, but it does have about 70% signal strength to my router. I have disabled all security which changes nothing. Yes, I have tried different channels.
