DFL 2500, IPSEC
« on: February 14, 2011, 06:08:49 AM »

Hi!

I have now been investigating a DFL 2500 unit for some time and it acts as a central point in a corporate system. Two DFL 1600 connects to the DFL 2500 using IPSEC, to make it possible for the different offices access the corporate network (behind the DFL 2500). Everything works just fine and it is a very robust system, but there are one thing that I can't figure out, and that it's the bandwidth over the IPSEC-tunnel.

Specs:
Internet connection @ DFL 2500: 200Mbps (full duplex)
Internet connection @ DFL 1600: 100 Mbps (full duplex)

Now to my question: In all the DFL-units used here there are no configurations regarding traffic shaping / management, but when I test the tunnel(s) I only receive a maximal bandwidth at ~2 MBps. Regarding the specs for the units they should be able to handle ~100Mbps of IPSEC-traffic, so all ideas and questions are more than welcome!

Thanks in advance.

which version of firmware are you using on this appliances??

What % of cpu use you obtain when sending traffic?

check duplex and speed coherency between any devices of the implementation ??
