Network Cofiguration for Printer

I have a Samsung CLP-315W printer wireless that i cant communicate with. I get network printer status not available. I contacted Samgung support and they said to talk to my router manufacture and get the network configuration and enter it manually. Can anyone help me with this?

I just setup a HP wireless printer for a friend.  I had to first set it up on a computer connected to the printer by USB.  I then gave the printer a static address because when you set it up as wireless on another machine you will be using a IP port to connect to it and if the printer is getting DHCP address the IP on the printer could change and the computer will be looking for it on the original IP.

Does this printer if a LAN port connector by chance? If so just connect the Printer directly up to the back of the router using the LAN port. If your using USB, you'll need to share out your printer thats connected to the PC.

These printers have a built-in wireless adapter, its easiest to do the initial configuration of the printer using a USB connection.  Once you configure the printer settings its ready to go.  Any other machine you want to add the printer to you do in a normal Add Printer routine.

yes i did install it many times with the usb, but after it goes to sleep my computers not seeing it. i can see it on the router page

Does this happen when the printer is directly connected to a PC. I presume it doesn't.
 
I would probably contact the printer MFR and ask them if there is a reason why the connection drops when the printer goes to sleep. If the printer is sleeping and for some reason cutting off the connection to any devices it's connected to, there could be a problem there at the printer. Printers usually don't shut off the USB or LAN connections. They need to be waiting for singles of print jobs coming down the line to print. Something isn't keeping the connection alive.

Many printers have a setting for "Auto-Wake"  (magic packet or such) to turn them on when somebody starts a print job to it.....

My Brother laser does, as does my Canon iP4500.....not sure about a newer Samsung....

Just did a quick google on your problem and found this item in TechSupportForum from user Nilsson:

Just like to add that my problem is solved. It seems the printer couldn't handle that my SSID (network name) had spaces in it. I renamed my wireless network and ever since, my printer wakes up when a job is sent to it. Perhaps this can be the solution for other people out there with the same problem.
