I have Verizon 768/DSL and the DIR-655. Things work fine when iTunes is not downloading podcasts. When it is, even if I set it to download just one at a time--versus allowing simultaneous downloads--it hogs the network access to the Internet (not the LAN side). This is only one machine--a Mac--downloading podcasts.

Someone said I can do this using QOS, which is enabled, but other than that, I have no clue how to accomplish this.

I know with Miro, a nice iTunes alternative, you can limit bandwidth nicely and not run into this issue.

I get the sneaky suspicion that this just isn't possible but I thought I'd ask anyway.
