Requests to the public IP
« on: February 21, 2011, 03:07:17 PM »

Hi there.

In my dlink dir-330 I redirected port 80 to a IIS web server and enabled router remote management through port 8080.
Any requests made from the outside to the public IP are redirected correctly to the IIS web server and works like a charm.

The problem is that an ASP application makes requests directly to the public IP (don't know why developers did in that way  >:(), so, if I use that ASP application from the local network, any request made "from the inside" to my public IP is "catched" first by the router and it tries to manage the request through its port 80, and then the application crashes.

How can I do to allow requests made from the local network to my own public IP and make the router "believe" that the request is made "from the outside"?

Thanks!

I had a similar problem, in that, when I tried to connect to my web server via port 80, it would take me to my login screen for the DIR-330.

You might try downloading the latest firmware (dated: 2008DEC12) from the Taiwan D-link server.

The URL is: ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/dir330/

Once there, download the latest version of firmware: Ver. 1.20

If you were relying on the Maintenance -> Firmware -> "Check Now" button... DON'T. It seems to stop at 1.10 and doesn't provide a clue that a new version exist.

Good luck.
