OK. I am about to buy a NMP (WD Live Hub) to put my local video/music/pic content on and drive many TVs in my house.  These NMP also have services like Hulu, NetFlix, etc.  I plan to sign-up for NetFlix and do the unlimited streaming thing via the WD Hub.  I have a 5Mbps broadband pipe which is right at the suggested level for HD streams.....but I think the DIR-655 can prioritize streams/video ?

I'm pretty techy guy....plan to put the Hub on Static (Reserved) IP address on my network....however, I've never messed with a Router and prioritization.  I assume it is something to do with the port(s) used, etc.  I have no idea the ports that will be used by the Hub for NetFlix (suppose I can post on those forums)....but can someone tell me how/where in the DIR-655 I can accomplish this ?....any step-by-steps would be most appreciated.....also any insights on how to ID the ports used would be great....eg. some variant of Netstat command, etc ?

I would presume that you would want to check out the QoS under Advanced/QoS Engine.

I don't know off had the ports Netflix uses since I use XBL for gaming and signed up for Netflix there. I would do a search on the Internet or see if this Live Hub that you are getting will have specific information on netflix ports. Your Hub might have specific ports it self, not sure. The ports that you will need to inter in to the router will depend on what service you will use.

You can review the gaming and Gamefuel stickty over on the dgl-4500 forum and see examples of how ports are being used. Yes the UI is different however the data is the same for QoS.

I would also test your router out before making any changes to see how the router works with streaming your media.

Also you can check out WISH for streaming media over WiFi. Some other in these forums use this option for WiFi.
