I have a Dell Dimension 4700 and just purchased DIr 655 and looking yo upgrade ethernet card that will fit in the Dell

Are you looking to replace the built in NIC or do an add-on over?

Yes have an Intel Pro 100 VE card now

I presume you'll have to do an add-on kinda of NIC, i.e. USB or does the LT have a PCMCIA slot? I'd also ask Dell and see if they have any recommendations for this device.
