Hi all,

i'm currently testing several upnp server under Ubuntu. I cannot successfully browse file using uShare while i can using MediaTomb. My first question is: is there a best linux upnp server?
And next: i have tried streaming some avi files but in the DSM-510 GUI those are shown grayed and i cannot play them. What does that means?

Find config.xml, part of mediatomb (/etc/mediatomb/config.xml). I have had good luck with mediatomb.

Edit the file, and follow the directions in there. Basically, remove comments for some sections, everywhere it talks about the DSM series. Make sure you comment in the section in the MAP area, so that the right MIME type is brought in for the DSM-510.
