I think the 6 series routers don't broadcast 2.4 and 5Ghz simultaneously as the 8 series routers do is one possible difference.

probably due to the fact that it's similar to the 655.

the problem with their forum is that you need to own one of their products to be able register.

Really? Must have changed the process. I didn't own own any before I joined. Odd. Well, if your curious, there alot more activity on the 3700 forums than here.

I think thats for the Enterprise Product line, You don't need access to that unless you do have that line. You don't for the 3700.

Also, NG, doesn't even watch or look at there forums or from what I understand this forum. It's ran by 3rd party, so even though the moderation is pretty good, any information or complaint or what ever, wont be seen by NG themselves. You have to go to Customer Svc to do anything.

one important feature in a router that I need is Dynamic DNS so I can connect to my PC from work or other places.  Right now I have an old Dlink router and I recently tested the DIR-655 and both had this feature.  do all routers have this or is it just a D-link feature?

I use teamview to connect to my PC and other PCs. I prefer to use default ISP DNS. Using other DNS is an option. I think you can use any DNS in any router. I don't think it's limited by OEMS. I might be limited by ISPs if there any interference or abuse. I think my 3700 has an option for OpenDNS. Been a while since I've had it online. I'm headed to WRT for it soon anyways.

I think it has OpenDNS...I'll have to look again...been a while..sorry I can't provide you with more accurate details.  ::) I think DLink owns DynDNS.

I see that people make mention of these DNS Services: OpenDNS, Google DNS, Norton DNS, Level 3 DNS over on the NG forum

You could give Post #9 a try:
