So, I just purchased two DSC-1130 IP Camera's. I also purchased a DIR-655 Router. I have at&t DSL Internet (via 2WIRE Router) (6Mbps downstream and 768 Kbps upstream).
I have my DIR-655 plugged into the 2WIRE WAN, and the DIR-655 is serving DHCP Addresses to the IP Cameras. Internet is up and working fine. I have run setup of the Camera's, and they all also working fine inside the home network.
Once I step outside the home network LAN, Occasionally I cannot access the cameras from the mydlink.com site or from my android phone. When I can access the camera from the internet, it takes forever “finding camera”…”connecting to your camera”, and most of the time it times out “unable to connect” and wants me to “retry/refresh”….very very annoying!
Everything has the latest firmware…so, that’s not it. (1.03, 4108) It must be something Im missing, or the stupid 2WIRE, or something else…maybe its me –that’s why im asking for help!
I was thinking maybe there should be port forwarding configured on the DIR-655?...and/or the 2WIRE? Maybe dynamic DNS needs to be configured? What can I do to improve performance?
Thank you!
