So, I just purchased two DSC-1130 IP Camera's.  I also purchased a DIR-655 Router.  I have at&t DSL Internet (via 2WIRE Router) (6Mbps downstream and 768 Kbps upstream).

I have my DIR-655 plugged into the 2WIRE WAN, and the DIR-655 is serving DHCP Addresses to the IP Cameras.  I have run setup of the Camera's, and they all also working fine inside the network.

Once I step outside the LAN, Occasionally I cannot access the cameras from the mydlink.com site or from my android phone.  When I can access the camera from the internet, it takes forever “finding camera”…”connecting to your camera”, and most of the time it times out “unable to connect” and wants me to “retry/refresh”….very very annoying!

Everything has the latest firmware…so, that’s not it.  1.03, 4108 It must be something Im missing, or the stupid 2WIRE, or something else…maybe its me –that’s why im asking for help!

I was thinking maybe there should be port forwarding configured on the DIR-655?...and/or the 2WIRE?  Maybe dynamic DNS needs to be configured?  What can I do to improve performance?

Does your DSL modem have a built in router?
If so, is the DSM modem in standard operating mode or is it bridged?

It's preferred to bridge the DSL modem as having 2 routers on the same line can effect connections to various services.

I have tried for hours to bridge the 2WIRE (disabled Routing, IP Direct, etc) and configured PPPoE on the DIR-655, but I couldnt ever get it on the internet!!  I was told the at&t 2WIRE does not support the DIR-655...so, im considering to sell it on ebay (since i dont have the box).  I can try 'banging' on it again....but, if its not supported, i doubt im going to be able to bridge it.   :-\

You could try putting the 655 router in to the 2Wires DMZ and see if that works for you if you can't bridge the 2Wire. There any articles about the 2Wire and bridging?
