Wireless connection drops while gaming
« on: April 14, 2011, 04:09:10 PM »

I have a wired connection to the router and typically all works fine. I have several Ipods and laptops accessing the router wirelessly with no real problems. As soon as I start playing America's Army (2.8.5) on my desktop (wired) my wireless connections all drop and the kids start yelling to turn the internet back on. When I exit the game all goes back to normal...any ideas????

Sounds like you need to set up a QoS rule and set a lower priority so that the game wont hog the bandwidth.

I would set up static reserved IP addresses on the router for ALL connected devices.

Then set up a QoS rule for your gaming PC.
