Setting NAT timeout on DIR-825.B1 2.04EU
« on: April 19, 2011, 04:23:02 PM »

Hi forum,

I have a D-Link DIR-825.B1, which I've recently updated to the 2.04EU firmware. The update fixed some IPv6 problems I've had, but introduced an IPv4 problem instead: TCP NATs have a rediculesly low timeout of 60 seconds, which makes the router useless for most protocols.

How do I set the NAT timeout for TCP connections?

Thanks,
Morten

I've updated the firmware to the 2.05WW beta found here:
http://ftp.dlink.ru/pub/Router/DIR-825/Firmware/DIR825B1_FW205WWB01Beta01.bin

The timeout is now 120 seconds for TCP connections. This is better, but still far from the expected 7800 seconds. How do I set the timeout?

Thanks,
Morten

Does anyone from D-Link know when this problem will be fixed?

I did not find a nat guide for d-link.  Help anyone?

I found that understanding nat helped understanding it.
http://cognitiveanomalies.com/cisco-nat-how-nat-works/

And I can not find out were d-link keeps the CLI guide for the routers?
Noob.

This maybe not be available from DLink. There is just basic info on the Help menu for the NAT settings.
