Hello,

First time posting to this forum after exhausting as many web searches I could think of.

My wireless router is the DIR-615 hardware version C1 FW 3.11NA

I have a HP dv6 1355dx laptop with win 7 64bit and my service provider is Comcast with a new Ubee DVM3203B modem. The modem and router are in the basement as most of the time the laptop is. the airport express is upstairs (directly above, about 15 feet) connected to the reciever and the iphone is in the same room as the airport express. It won't matter however if the laptop is upstairs or downstairs however.

My problem is this, I have my laptop, apple airport express, and iPhone connected to my network. I am basically using the airport express as a music Occasionally itunes will not see the airport express and if I go into wireless settings and change from say channel 9 to 10 or from 10 to 11 and restart itunes it will see it. when I do get it connected and try and control Itunes with the remote app it will kick my phone off of the network. I haven't been able to isolate when itunes will not be able to see the airport but usually it is when I pause the music and the computer goes to sleep and the i wake it up and hit play.

Before the complimentary tech support ran out apple had said that it was the router that I had couldn't handle multiple wireless devices very well. At one point apple had me set up a separate network with the airport express for both my laptop and iphone. but that was a pain because then i couldn't access the internet with the pc or the iphone.

I have looked at reviews for the DIR 615 on new egg and some people say this router is not good for using multiple wireless devices and have the same problem that I am having but other people say it works fine.

One thing i should mention is that someone had said that I should update the firm ware but it says that i have the latest version even though i had seen that there was a version 4.11

I hope of I have given enough information any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Mark

Try setting up static IP addresses for all devices on the router. Set up devices to auto obtain the IP addresses.
Is the 615 WiFi running along with the Airport Express?
Might be some interference there.

FurryNutz, I hope this is the answer to what you are asking... if I go to Network settings, then scroll down to Number of Dynamic DHCP Clients :7 it will list all my wireless devices and it says they have an assigned IP. I don't think the Airport Express is running along with the 615. Networking and computers aren't really my field so it may take me a while to find the answers.

Thanks,

Mark

Same area, not select the Reserve word link to the left on each row to set up and SAVE or ADD the reservation. This will autofill the section above. You can give it a name for each device if you wish. Then select ADD or SAVE.
