AFP DHX2 authentication support / Mac OS X 10.7 Lion support
« on: April 25, 2011, 03:27:20 PM »

Will we see an updated firmware to include support for DHX2 authentication over AFP? The DNS-320 doesn't work with Mac OS X 10.7 without this support.

As far as I can tell, it seems that the only change required is the inclusion of uams_dhx2.so for netatalk.

Looking into it. Don't have any timeline as of now but if its an issue it will be addressed.

I do hope this issue will be resolved soon. I'll be upgrading to Lion as soon as it's released and I obviously don't want to loose ability to connect to my NAS or make Time Machine backups.

Same here.  The message reads:

There was a problem connecting to the server "server name"

The version of the server you are trying to connect to is not supported.  Please contact your system administrator to resolve the problem.

This occurs when trying to connect to the server in Lion (OSX 10.7, gold master).  This error occurs when you attempt to connect to the server via AFP or connecting to the Time Machine backup.  I am not able to connect due to this error.

Please resolve this issue.

Thanks!

You can find a workaround for the AFP share issue here http://www.alexanderwilde.com/2011/04/os-x-lion-connection-error-with-afp-and-workaround/

Unfortunately it does not solve issues with time machine.

Hello,

please do something with it. It is definitely issue. Lion is out and without update of firmware, we are not able to use time machine in Max OS X Lion.

This apparently has been a known issue since April with no ETA or progress announced? Does not appear to be addressed in the 2.01 firmware beta either.  If there is any hope of a fix, please let us know.

Bought my 320 this week, set it up before upgrading to Lion, so obviously I'm now supremely disappointed. But if there will be no fix any time soon, I need to send it back.

If i had the opportunity to return my NAS i would. I don't think this problem would be fixed anytime soon.

How about asking Apple for a fix, after all they broke that which was working before therefore it should be their responsibility.

Based on article:
http://www.alexanderwilde.com/2011/04/os-x-lion-connection-error-with-afp-and-workaround/

It appears that Apple simply turned off something that was considered insecure.  You have to hack your Mac to become less security conscious for it to start working again.  I would much prefer DLink make the fix and increase security on their products so no...  It's DLink's responsibility to improve their products in line with OS improvements.
