IPV6 Problem
« on: April 27, 2011, 01:47:19 PM »

I've been going through lots of problems with my network, because I'm trying to port forward and stuff.
Anyways, I decided to quit that stuff and get it back to normal. However I have no IPV6 address and its effecting some programs. It says stuff like theres no 6to4 connnection or something. What should I do?  :-\

First thing to try is to disable IPv6 protocol on the computer.

Leave it off and see what happens.  If you are still getting errors then troubleshoot from those.

Hi dakoslug,

Follow Davevt31's advice.

What is the Hardware Revision of your DIR-655 Router?

Does your ISProvider support IPV6?

Does your Cable Modem Support IPV6?

I'm getting troubles from NOT having a IPV6 address. So I don't think turning them off will do anything?

Hi dakoslug,

The latest Firmware Version is 2.01 NA for B1.

They did correct some issues.

See this before applying:

How do you download this firmware?

Hi dakoslug,

Where is your location? I'm talking U.S. here. Where are you located to download from your D-link location?

But, yes, I personally downloaded and installed it on a Friend's D-Link B1 Router unit.

I'm in Canada. But how? I tried to update it inside the gateway but it says that I have the recent one. What should I do?

Hi dakslug,

ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/dir655_revB/Firmware/dir655_revB_FW_201NA.zip

You need to download it. Save it. Then you need to unzip it.

Go into the Router Settings. Browse to the Bin file location.

Now follow onscreen instructions.

Read this report before doing it.
