Xbox can't connect
« on: April 28, 2011, 06:51:09 PM »

I installed my DIR 655 today and had no problems accessing the network with any of my computers, however, I am completely unable to connect my xbox to the network.  The issue isn't with connecting the xbox to xbox live, its with even getting it to connect to the wan.

I have tried various combinations of the following settings;

802 modes: n g & b, n & g only, n only, g only.
WPA Mode: WPA & WPA2, WPA only, WPA2 only
Cipher type: TKIP, AES, TKIP and AES

On the xbox I have tried both manually setting the IP, DNS, etc and also automatically setting them.

No matter what I do the xbox says it can't connect to the router, and in the router's wireless connections it shows my xbox's MAC address with an IP of 0.0.0.0.

Any suggestions?

Do you have UPnP enabled on the router?

Hi chilla78,

Are you going Wireless to the Router, or plugged into a Ethernet Port on the Router?

If Wireless, what Adapter are you using? Did it come with a Wireless Adapter?
