I have a dlink cable modem and dlink dir-655 router. When the router is first turned on or a setting is changed any/all of the computers here can connect to the Ultima Online game server for login but within a few minutes most will not be able to. Its as if they are being refused a connection to login.owo.com (I think that is where they connect to). 1 maybe 2 computers can still connect but its fickle and can't know which 1 or 2 it will be or for how long.

Any computers already connected to a game server are fine its just the ones trying to login after the router has been running for a few minutes. My first assumption 2 days ago when this happened with my dlink gaming router was that the router developed a problem but now with a new router its still happening.

The problem started when I re-enabled the wireless on my gaming router and when I noticed the problem I re-disabled the wireless but the problem persists. A new modem (the DIR-655) did not help...

Very strange =<... I do something to "reset" the router either by literally resetting the router or making a change to the routers setup and I get perfect logins for a couple minutes then nothing but failed logins.

Are you hitting enter on the key board after entering in the PW or selecting the Submit button with the mouse?

What browser are you using?
What happens if you select Submit with the mouse? Same thing?

The same thing happens when I submit using the mouse and I am using IE8.

Another strange occurence just happened... Called someone on my magicjack phone and it would ring, they answered but I could not hear them and they could not hear me. I hung up an re-dialed and it was the same. They called me twice and neither of us could hear the other. I plugged the modem directly to the computer skipping the router and made a phone call without problem.

Have a hard time believing that the problem is 2 routers... 1 old 1 brand new so maybe the problem is with the modem and the fact the problem happened at the same time I changed a router setting on the old router is just coincidence or that 1 tiny thing that finally let it screw up.

I am guessing... I have another modem its not brand new but it was only used for 1 day. Just have to wait for a non-internet phone to come home so I can call in the ##'s on the modem to find out if that helps.

What ISP service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP modem do you have? stand alone or built in router?
Connecting wired or wireless?

Modem: DCM-202 (standalone)
Connections: all wired

Is the Cache being fully cleared from the browser you are using?
What Firmware is currently loaded on the 655 router?
What hardware version is it?

Firmware version is 2.00NA --- I can login a few times after causing the router to reset then all logins fail. The router has been replaced this did not help, The modem has been replaced this also did not help   What kind of setting(s) can make that happen?

UPDATE:
BLAH... apparently one of the computers on this network was loaded with virus. Ran virus scan on the computers and after dozens of virus were listed for one it was shutoff (likely all the same virus just spread out on the computer). Now all is well when connecting to login.owo.com again => Maybe a virus hopped onto that computer when I re-enabled the wireless but before I had the password set?

My guess is that this virus would overload my network and the router resets that let the network run like normal for a minute or so just stopped the action(s) of the virus for a short time.

I would disconnect the effected PCs and get them cleaned up. Find a clean PC and try to log into the router. It should log in with out any issues using any browser. Keep us posted.
