After upgrading to this firmware every time when the fan turns on a new note appear in the System Log which says fan can't rotate.
I checked the fans and they are rotating so it's a false alarm.
Anyone else noticed this problem?

I can validate this issue. Both of my DNS-343s displayed the erroneous fan rotation message after updating to the v1.04 public release.

What a shame. After such a long time there still are issues. I am so disappointed.
I was waiting for this final firmware but now I have doubts.
D-link should not make anything more complex than switches. Yeah, they make good switches but anything else... it's a gamble.

edit: Forgot to mention that it's not the first time I'm disappointed by D-link firmwares. And I don't have unusual high standards. I just want products that work as expected.

D-Link did say that another firmware version with AFT support was forthcoming.  We'll have to wait and see if any of these "issues" are also addressed.

Fingers crossed, let's hope that will not take another year to be released.
An to be honest I'm tiered of all this "proper firmware" waiting.

I suspect the wait will be well under a year.  My primary concern is future support for additional enhancements and fixes for existing issues.

I wonder what causes this, as mine doesn't seem to have the issue (not that i am complaining). I also haven't hard the hard drive full issue either.

Since you aren't experiencing this fan issue with the public release of firmware v1.04, you may want to post your DNS-343 specs here: http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=38495.0.

The public release of firmware v1.04 is here: ftp.dlink.com/Multimedia/dns343/Firmware/

However, the beta firmware v1.05b01 supports 2TB advanced format HDDs (which v1.04 does not).

Please provide more information on the ramifications of this feature:

• UPnP AV Server updated and DLNA 1.5 Certified

My only real gripe with the DNS-343 is that I often have to perform manual refreshes of the UPnP server to "see" new items from my media streamers. Will this firmware resolve this issue for me?
