Extremely slow connection to secure websites
« on: May 07, 2011, 08:26:48 AM »

Hello,
Let's get the basics out of the way. I am using Comcast as an ISP and have a standalone Arris modem. I, obviously, have a DIR-655 router REV B with a firmware revision on 2.00NA. I have already turned off packet shaping and QOS. Also, I have set the firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for both TCP and UDP, and assigned static IP addresses to my computers. The problem I am having is that whenever I go to any secure websites, i.e. anything that starts with https, it takes an extraordinary long time to log in and to navigate to any webpages therein. I also cannot upload photos to a website and when I try the Speedtest.net website the download speed is OK but the upload test errors out, it doesn't connect. Any help would be most appreciated.

What browser are you using? Happen with Opera, FF or Flock?
Seen some issues with Arris cable modems before.

I only use IE to browse the internet. Also, when I remove the router and plug right into the modem, the web pages are fast to load secure or not. This is why I believe it is a setting in the router. Any suggestions?
