DIR-825 to DAP 1522, few questions

My dad has one of these lying around, and I came home for a few days and would like to set this up for him.

One side of the house has very weak internet, luckily there is an attic crawl space that goes right above that side of the house next to where the wireless router is positioned.

I would like to run this device with power and a long ethernet cable through here, about 30 feet, and just put it up there.  But i want to make sure this can be used this way, and that I understand.

But basically, someone help me out if im wrong.

I just need to set the SSID to the same name (but doesnt it need to be on a different channel?), set it to AP (Access Point) and run a cable from the router to one of the ports?
