Problems with SIP and firmware 1.02NA
« on: May 08, 2011, 07:15:20 PM »

Last week I upgraded the firmware in my DLINK DIR-601 from 1.01NA to 1.02NA.  This resulted in breaking my VoIP service (causing one-way audio on incoming calls – callers could hear me but I could not hear them).  I am using a SIP-based service from Speakeasy (Broadsoft) with a Cisco 504G phone.  Once I downgraded the router back to 1.01NA, the service started working again.

I don’t know if anybody else has reported an SIP-related issues with this firmware.  Looking for any feedback.

What is your ISP service? Cable or DSL?
What is your ISP modem? Stand alone or built in router?
What are the Firewall settings?
What are the application layer settings if you have any of these on the 601 router?

ISP Service:  Cable via Cox
ISP Modem: Motorola SBV5220 standalone modem connected to DIR-601
Firewall Settings: Same in 1.01NA (works fine) but does not work in 1.02NA (loaded saved config settings from 1.01NA)
ALG Settings: All 4 options (PPTP, IPSec, SIP, RTSP) selected

Version 1.02NA also prevents the XLite soft client from working, as well as the Cisco 504G hard phone.  Both experience one-way audio on incoming calls only.  Two-way audio works fine on outgoing calls.  As soon as I downgraded the firmware to 1.01NA, all calls worked fine without changing any options in the DIR-601.

Possible something has changed in the FW or the config file on 1.02NA.
I would do this, factory reset of the router. Don't upload the saved config file from 1.01.
Just set up the router with out the file and set up the router manually and see.
