No Multicast
« on: May 19, 2011, 08:23:24 AM »

Hi

Just got my dir-655 B1 with FW 2.0. ** Forgot it's an EU model.
I enabled the multicast streams in advanced network, but I cannot get my IPTV signal through.
I can see in the IP adress under status->IGMP Multicast member, so I would assume, that there is a connection between my TV provider and the router.

I also tried deactivating QOS, windows firewall, added the pc to DMZ, but still no "signal"

I made a simular setup at another place, but with a dir-615, and that works just fine, with only Multicast enabled.

How the ding, do I get on from here? :)

What ISP service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand alone or built in router?

Setup DCHP Reserved (Static) IP addresses for your devices on the router.
Ensure devices are set to Auto Obtain IP addressing.
Ensure DNS relay is enabled.

It's on fiber cable and I attached it directly to the fiber converter box.
The host is then providing the IP.

I did not assign ip for my devices statically, so will try that and check the DNS relay.

Can also try setting firewall to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP and see.

Thank you for all the suggestions, but it just won't play along :)
Luckily I can still return it, so I will try a netgear 3500.
