Advanced format drives + FW 1.10 beta
« on: May 27, 2011, 02:49:44 AM »

Now that the 1.10 beta firmware has been out for a while, what are peoples experience with using advanced format drives like the WD EARS drives in RAID 1 configuration with this firmware?

I am thinking of upgrading from my 2 x 1TB drives to 2 x 2TB drives. The only drives available locally are WD EARS and I want to use the drives in disk mirroring mode.

TIA

I decided to try anyway. I backed up everything, updated the firmware to the 1.1 b7 and installed two 2Tb WD EARS drives. The RAID 1 was created and formatted successfully. I have been using this configuration for two months without a problem, so for me it works reliably.

With the most recent 1.10 beta it should be fine.
