I'm looking at buying one of these but have been unable to find out if you can access and stream files to an Android Smartphone (HTC Wildfire) and an iPod Touch?  If it is possible is it through a web browser or an App? What files can you access?

There are no "apps" for this product. It is possible to access the NAS remotely via laptop, smartphone etc depending on what service you want. If you want webGUI access, just simply create a port forwarding on port 80 to the internal IP of your NAS. For file transfer, you can setup FTP and open port 21 assuming your phone has an FTP client.

It would mainly be to view pictures and watch videos over a wifi connection. Similar to the functions you would get with something like Dropbox but on a mass scale.

Using android there are some apps for uPNP / DLNA support
Like Andromote, EStrongs, Plugplay...

estrongs is superb for android. you need to access via the IP address though so it's probably a good idea to set that to static in the 320's admin settings if it won't cause you problems elsewhere. no idea what an equivalent apple function would be

I use "ES File Explorer" along with "MX video player" and/or "Mobo" video player.

ES File Explorer connects to network shares, from there I select the file to watch and the app to open file with.

I do not watch it on the phone, but it works. I tested on a LG phone before I got the Kindle Fire and it works great on it!

In a few words, you just need Apps that can connect to network shares, stream or support UPnP in order to see the files from the NAS.
